Mr. Robert H. Bright, age 96, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
Mr. Bright was born in Lansing, Kansas on June 19, 1922. Mr. Bright retired as the Railroad Labor Relations Executive with Rock Island Railroad in Chicago, Illinois. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Bright was a member of the First Christian Church in Murray. He also served as a Murray-Calloway County Hospice Volunteer Coordinator and a Murray-Calloway County Hospital Volunteer. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Bright was preceded in death by his parents, Ray L. Bright and Flora Mae (Stoddard) Bright; his wife, Katherine Elizabeth (Edens) Bright; and by one brother, Dale J. Bright.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara J. Bergthold and husband Joseph of Frankfort, Illinois; one son, Dr. John R. Bright and wife Jane of Murray, Kentucky; as well as 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Pastor Ruth Ragovin officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to funeral services on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
