Robert Lewis Coffey

Mr. Robert Lewis Coffey, age 70, of Murray, Kentucky died on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Mr. Coffey was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 6, 1947 to the late James H. Coffey and Sara (Marano) Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a retired union pipe fitter.

In addition to his parents Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo Cairo and Donna Mascio.

Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Karen (Laas) Coffey of Murray, Kentucky to whom he married on August 29, 2003 in Palois Hill, Illinois; two sons, Anthony James Coffey of Newton, Illinois and Robert Lewis Coffey, Jr. of Oswego, Illinois; one step son, Darren Laas and wife Tiffany of Chicago Heights, Illinois; three grandchildren, Samantha Pontious, Anthony James Coffey, Jr. and Tyra Coffey; three step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as four brothers-in-law, William Laas of Illinois, Michael Laas of Illinois, Richard Laas of Indiana, and James Laas of Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Father Brandon Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
