Robert Emerson Carpenter

Mr. Robert Emerson Carpenter, age 78, of New Concord, Kentucky, died on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the Murray – Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Carpenter was born on January 18, 1945, in St. Joe, Missouri to the late Dr. Emerson Carpenter and Elizabeth “Betty” (Clark) Carpenter. He was a retired elementary school teacher having taught in both Michigan and Puryear, Tennessee. Mr. Carpenter also coached baseball and soccer, was an avid golfer, and was of the Lutheran Faith.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Scott Emerson Carpenter.

            Survivors include his wife, Sally (Grill) Carpenter; one daughter, Rachel Ellen Fisher and husband Larry of Magnolia, Delaware; two sisters, Ellen Gayle Friedrich of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Nancy Seigel and husband Allen of Columbia, Illinois; as well as one brother, William Carpenter of Traverse City, Michigan.

            A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
