Robert "Bob" Howorka

Mr. Robert H. Howorka, 81 of Murray, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
Born July 12, 1931 in Belleville, Illinois, to the late August and Grace Tipton Howorka. He was a retired regional sales manager for Sears. Mr. Howorka was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church, and the Adult Men Sunday School class. He was the President of "In His Steps Ministries of Murray", which was also his passion. Mr. Howorka also received a B.S. from McKendree College.
Survivors include his wife, Allison Howorka, of Murray,to whom he married on June 13, 1975 in Minneapolis, Minnesota; three sons, Reggy Howorka and wife Robin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Randy Howorka and wife Susan of Dallas, Texas and Gary Howorka and wife Rebecca of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; step daughter, Deborah Sowers and husband William, of Williams, Arizona; also seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Mr. Howorka was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Hodge and John Dale officiating. Entombment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
