Mr. Ronnie Lane Morris, age 68, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Morris was born in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Toy and Lois (Joyce) Morris on July 9, 1947. Mr. Morris retired from Kenlake Foods and was previously employed with Tappan Manufacturing Company. Besides working at Kenlake Foods and Tappan he also was a master carpenter and owner of M & M Construction, LLC specializing in custom homes and cabinets. Mr. Morris was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and he was a member of the Ledbetter Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Morris was preceded in death by one son, Jason Lane Morris; one brother, Glenn Morris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Jaunita Phelps; and one sister-in-law, Dinah Morris.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife Valerie Morris of Murray, to whom he married on June 22, 1978 in Calloway County, Kentucky; two sons, Joshua Morris of Murray, Kentucky and Nicholas Jones and wife Melanie of LaVergne, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Maci Lane Morris of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Riley Addison Morris of Murray, Kentucky, Emma Ryan Jones of LaVergne, Tennessee and Gabrielle Elise Jones of LaVergne, Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, George Brinkley of Calvert City, Kentucky and George Phelps and wife Kristi of Mt. Joliet, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Ramona Phelps of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Lambert and Eddie Majors officiating. Burial will follow in the Ledbetter Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 after 5:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
