Mr. Roy Alan Cothran, age 47, of Grand Prairie, Texas, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Cothran was born January 14, 1969 in Murray, Kentucky. Alan was a graduate of Calloway County High School and Murray State University. He was a Civil Engineer, and project manager with the Walsh Corporation. Alan also served six years in the Army National Guard.
Alan is survived by his mother, Jane Cooper Cothran Jackson and husband Charles of Murray, Kentucky; father, Roy Eugene Cothran and wife Diana of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Julia Lynne Cothran of Greenville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl Cothran and Mary Magdalene Cothran; maternal grandparents, Julius Cooper who ran Julius Cooper construction, and Myrtle Cooper who owned the Town & Country dress shop.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Glenn Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
