Roy Lee Garland

Mr. Roy L. Garland, age 77, of Hazel, Kentucky died on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Murray – Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Garland was born in New Concord, Kentucky on July 25, 1940 to the late Toy Garland and Eula Mae (Boggess) Garland. Mr. Garland was retired and was a member of the Hazel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents Mr. Garland was preceded in death by five sisters, Elaine Etherton, Doris Hutchins, Jean Humphries, Judy Garland-Ward and Eva Scott; and one brother, Troy "Junior" Garland.

Mr. Garland is survived by his wife, Jimmie (Rose) Garland of Hazel, Kentucky; one daughter, Tammy Myatt and husband Kent of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; one son, Rick Garland and wife Norma of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Joyce Vance and husband Tommy of Murray, Kentucky, Lottie Garland of Murray, Kentucky and Hazel Holderby of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Paul Garland and wife Vickie of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Drew Myatt and wife Kaylee, Tanner Myatt, Aston Bowden and husband Samuel and Marlee Garland and fiancé Hayden; as well as two great-grandchildren, Meyers Bowden and Jessin Roy Myatt.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Jordan Roach officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
