Ruby Herndon

Mrs. Ruby Herdon, age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 5:30 pm at her home.
She was a retired teller for Peoples Bank; she was a graduate of Draughon's Business College; attended Oklahoma School of Banking; she was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ; she was avid golfer and charter member of the Oaks Country Club.
She was born in Faxon, Kentucky on June 16, 1924 to the late Clarence and Mamie Tucker Dyer. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Earl Herndon who died in January of 1990; one son, Steve Herndon; two sisters, Sadie Ragsdale and Linda Drake; two brothers, Wayne Dyer and Don Dyer.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Galloway and husband Bobby of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Hazel Berkley of Dallas, Texas and Rose Coleman and husband Ronald of Rowlett, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Galloway and wife Stacey and John Galloway and wife Kelly both of Murray, Kentucky; three special caregivers, Laura Reck, Wendy Lovett and Melanie Stockholm.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale and Ronald Coleman will officiate with burial to follow in the Friendship Church of Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the funeral home from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
