Mrs. Ruby Erwin Howe, age 84, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm at her home. Mrs. Howe was born on August 4, 1926 in Calloway Co., KY to the late William Duke Erwin and Beulah Geurin Erwin. Mrs. Howe retired from the Tappan Manufacturing Co., in Murray, KY after 30 years of working in the accounting office. Mrs. Howe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Murray.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howe was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Howe, Sr., two sisters, Opal Rogers and Eupal Underwood, as well as one brother, Carlos C. Erwin.
Mrs. Howe is survived by one step son, Red Howe, Jr. and wife Janice of Murray, KY, one brother, Hampton Erwin and wife Barbara of Murray, KY, two step grandchildren, Jennifer Wakefield and husband Wade of Nolensville, TN and Meredith Lewis and husband Trey of Hendersonville, TN, three step great-grandchildren, Bryce Lewis, Ryan Lewis and Maclaine Wakefield, sister in law, Brenda Erwin of Greencastle, Indiana, caregiver and niece, Sharon Myatt and husband Jimmy of Hazel, KY, caregiver and nephew, Johnny Underwood and wife Jan of Hazel, KY, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Saywell and Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
