Ruby Mae Jones

Mrs. Ruby Mae Williams Jones, 99, of Beech Grove, TN, died Friday, October 21, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Jones was a native of Lynn Grove, KY, and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Gladys Key Williams. In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, William Carlos Jones, who died in 1987; one son, William Mac Jones; two brothers, J.W. and Hilton Williams; as well as by one sister, Rubena McNeely.
Mrs. Jones was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Murray, KY; there she served in the Adult Choir and Sunday school for over 50 years.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Sara Phillips and husband Roy of Beech Grove, TN and Gwendolyn Barber and husband Phillip of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Gregg (Debbie) Jones of Tallahassee, FL, Randy (Robin) Jones of Kennesaw, GA, Elaine (Jon) Alexander of Franklin, TN, Jeffrey (Allison) Jones of Franklin, TN, Janene Steward of Beech Grove, TN, Ed (Sloan) Barber of Raleigh, N.C., and Scott (Lisa) Barbara of Houston, TX; fifteen great grandchildren; four great- great grandchildren; as well as one sister-in-law, Evelyn Jones of Murray, KY.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Beech Grove with the Rev. Tom Brantley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Local funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Brantley officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until funeral hour (11:00 a.m.) at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
