Ruth Miller

Ruth Douglas McCormick Miller, 97, of Owensboro, Kentucky died May 3, 2017 at Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY. She was born on June 2, 1919 in McLean County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth Hansford McCormick. She had been employed by Owensboro National Bank. She was a former member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church. She was very active at church as a Sunday school teacher and WMU president both local and district. She was involved for 25 years with West End Mission as a family caregiver and volunteered with the Girl's Auxiliary. She also volunteered at Cornerstone and the RiverPark Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene H. Miller in 1997; a son-in-law, Bill McLemore; and brothers and sisters, Raymond Allen McCormick, William T. "Sandy" McCormick, Jewell McCormick and Bobbie Catherine Peak.

Survivors include her son, Dr. William Hardin Miller (Kathy) of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Ruth Ann McLemore of Murray, KY and Gene Raye Price of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, William Hardin Miller, II of Dallas, Texas, William Andrew McLemore of Murray, KY, Megan Hay of Dallas, Texas and Jeff Parks of Murray, KY; great grandchildren, Andrew William Hay, Emma Grace Hay, Krissy Parks and Eric Parks; great-great grandson, Chandler Eden Crouch; sister-in-law, Susie Miller of Ensor, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 1:00 p.m. on Monday May 8, 2017, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
