Ruth Sykes Wilson

Mrs. Ruth Sykes Wilson, age 91, of Murray, Ky., died Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Calvert City Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Wilson was born March 4, 1921 in Henry Co., Tn., to the late Hershell and Artie Salmon Sykes. She was the former owner and operator of Ruth Wilson's Beauty Shop, and also worked as a clerk at Murray Singers, and was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Barrett and husband Lonnie of Calvert City, Ky., Nancy Barrett and husband Doyle of Benton, Ky., one son, Bobby Wilson and wife Glinda of Murray, Ky., also eleven grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hugh D. Wilson, daughter, Martha Ann Wilson, one sister, LaRue Sykes, three grandchildren, Mark and Darren Barrett, and Deronda Wilson, also one great grandchild, Brian Wayne Barrett.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. David Allbritten will officiate and burial will follow in the Goshen cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September, 18, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
