Mr. Sammy Puckett, age 83, of Dexter, Kentucky, died on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Puckett was born June 27, 1937, in Dexter, Kentucky to the late Maxie Puckett and Elizabeth Copeland Puckett. Sammy was a retired Ironworker, member of the Dexter Pentecostal Church. He was also an Army veteran.
In addition to his parents Sammy was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Brown; two brothers, James Mac Puckett and Ricky Puckett.
Survivors include his wife, Nida Morris Puckett of Dexter, Kentucky, they married on May 28, 1960 in Hardin, Kentucky; one daughter, Cathy Jane Clark and husband Dave of Almo, Kentucky; one son, Maxie Puckett and wife Grace of Almo, Kentucky; three sisters, Darlene Elkins Garland and husband Bill of Murray, Kentucky, Kay Thorn of Almo, Kentucky, Betty "Skip" Barron and husband Bobby of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Harvey Puckett and wife Karen of Dexter, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Tasha Mitchell and husband James of Dexter, Kentucky, Sam Clark of Dexter, Kentucky, Keeli Puckett of Almo, Kentucky and Dalton Puckett of Almo, Kentucky. Two great grandchildren, Jack "Jackman" Mitchell and Ruby "Ruby Doo" Mitchell both of Dexter, Kentucky.
Funeral service for Sammy will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Bro. Elijah Balentine will officiate, and burial will follow in the Brooks Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
