Sara Brooks

Mrs. Sara C. Brooks, age 76, of Cadiz, Ky., passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 10:35 p.m. at her home. She was a school teacher for 31 years after retiring from Rockwood School District in St. Louis, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mamie Therrell Calhoun.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Brooks of Cadiz, KY; mother-in-law, Catheryn Brooks of Independence, MO; daughter, Cathy Brooks of Independence, MO; son, Douglas Brooks and wife Jane of Washington, MO; brother-in-laws Mel Brooks of Somerset, KY and Clayton Brooks and wife Marty of Conover, NC; and grandchildren, Nicholas Starke of Des Moines, Iowa, Vanessa Starke of Columbia, MO, Russell Brooks and Ryan Brooks both of Washington, MO.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cadiz Christian Church, Dr. Tom Martin will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and again Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church; burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
