Sara Ann Dixon

        Mrs. Sara Von Schoech Dixon, age 66, of Murray, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Murray – Calloway County Hospital after a brief illness.

          Sara was born on October 1, 1957, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Paul and Shirley Outland Von Schoech. Sara had one son, Justin Baker, who preceded her in death on October 4, 2017.

          Sara was a very creative person and spent countless hours making the finest garments and crocheting. In her career she worked at MSU, Paschall Truck Lines, Jackson Purchase PCA, Calloway County School Board Office, Murray – Ledger and Times, for Dr. Steve Farmer, dentist, and she had her own alteration shop. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) and participated in many re-enactments. Sara was of the Baptist faith.

          Sara is survived by her husband, Mike Dixon, her brother, Paul Von Schoech, Jr., half-sister, Wilma Spee of The Netherlands, nephew, Shawn Von Schoech and wife Erica, great – nephew, Luke Von Schoech, cousins, Michael Outland, Jesse Outland, Rachel Bruder, and Lindsey Pace.

          A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hicks Cemetery in Calloway County. Bro. Brett Miles will officiate. There will be no public visitation. The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
