Sarah Edwards

Mrs. Sarah Edwards, age 85, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Farms at Puryear, Tennessee.

Mrs. Edwards was born on March 3, 1937, in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Ebe Lyons and Lucille Walker Lyons. She retired after working 22 years for Fisher-Price Mattel and was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Edwards; one daughter, Becky Collins; four brothers, Jimmy Lyons, L.W. Lyons, Earl "Fats" Lyons, and one infant brother; as well as one grandson, Tommy Edwards.

Survivors include one son, Ricky Edwards and wife Jackie of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Betty Dodd of Murray, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Michael Phillips and wife Robyn, Justin Phillips of Almo, Kentucky, and Richie Edwards and wife Jerina of Jenks, Oklahoma; as well as six great-grandchildren, Bekah Phillips of Lexington, Kentucky, Madison Edwards, Riley Edwards, and Reese Edwards all of Jenks, Oklahoma; Shaun Phillips of Murray, Kentucky, and Jack Phillips of Paducah, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with John Dale and Rev. Tim Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
