Scott Garland

Mr. Scott Garland, age 44, of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Garland was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on September 8, 1971. Mr. Garland was employed by the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was of the Baptist faith, graduated from Calloway County High School in 1990 and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

Mr. Garland was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jerry Travis.

He is survived by his wife Karen Garland of Murray, to whom he married on April 17, 1992 in Murray, Kentucky; parents, Clayton and Ernestine Garland of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Justin Boggess and wife Devry of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Michelle Cline and husband Andy of Conway, Arkansas; one grandchild, Baby Klyne Boggess of Murray, Kentucky; four nieces, Tori Cline, Kala Grimes and husband Aaron and McKenzie Grimes all of Conway, Arkansas and Tisha Travis of Murray, Kentucky; one nephew, Tanner Travis of Murray ,Kentucky; mother-in-law, Marilyn Travis of Murray, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Tony Travis and wife Cindy of Murray, Kentucky; as well as his special companions, Peanut, Turbo and Max.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Ledbetter Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
