Mrs. Sharon Siebold, age 61, of Murray, Kentucky, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at her home.
Sharon was an elementary teacher turned homeschool mom whose greatest joy and gift was teaching God's story to children. She traveled with her family to Ridgeville, IN every summer for 19 years to teach Vacation Bible School. While a children's ministry leader, she lead children's sermons, taught Sunday school, and helped lead the Awana program at Murray FBC. For over ten years she welcomed international students into her home every Friday night for meals and lessons both in English and scripture. She ministered to everyone she came into contact with words of encouragement, kindness, and prayer. Her legacy is one of lovingly sharing her faith. Her impact has reached many corners of the globe.
She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education from Murray State University. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Murray and participated in the Davenport Class.
Sharon was born in Hartford, Kentucky on March 17, 1957 to the late Dr. Robert and Fern Norsworthy. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by one nephew, Alan Norsworthy.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Bert Siebold of Murray, Kentucky. They were married in Berea, Kentucky on December 28, 1980. Also survived by her son, Michael Siebold of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Jane Norsworthy of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Eric Norsworthy and wife Cindy Likens Norsworthy of Hartford, Kentucky; her mother-in-law, Linda Siebold of Murray, Kentucky; four nieces and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Murray. Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Murray from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 12:00 noon till funeral hour. Rev. Keith Inman and Rev. Boyd Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
