Mrs. Sheila Melvin

Mrs. Sheila A. Melvin, age 68, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Murray, Kentucky.

Mrs. Melvin was born in Cook County, Illinois on February 16, 1957, to the late Orville “Robert” Bowland and C. Nitaree (Spann) Bowland. Mrs. Melvin was a caregiver and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Melvin was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Melvin, who passed away on August 26, 2010.

Mrs. Melvin is survived by one daughter, Brandi Corbin and husband Brad of Pullman, Washington; one step daughter, Angelia Boyd and husband Bobby of Hazel, Kentucky; two sisters, Jeanne Nellis and husband Mark of Charlotte, North Carolina and Joanne Allison of Lancaster, South Carolina; one brother, Dillard Hicks of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Benjamin Corbin and Eloise Corbin both of Pullman, Washington, Jacob Melvin of Nashville, Tennessee, Isaac Henson of Murray, Kentucky, and Sara Henson of Murray, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. John Dale will officiate, and burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
