Sheila Ward

       Mrs. Sheila Carol Ward, age 67, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

          Mrs. Ward was born in Murray, Kentucky, on February 19, 1956.  She graduated from Murray High School in 1974 and was a member of the cheerleading squad. Sheila later received her cosmetology license and before her retirement was the owner and operator of Reflections Styling Hair Salon in Murray.  Sheila was known as a person who could do all things and never backed down from a challenge. Talented in many ways, she was especially known for her cooking, gardening, and managing the farm.

          Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her father, Charles Mason McCuiston; one son, Kiel Mason Ward; one sister, Shan Coral Herndon; and brother-in-law, Mark “Moochie” Herndon.

          She is survived by her husband, Mitch Ward of Murray, Kentucky, whom she married on August 9, 1974; her mother, Mary Ann (Boyd) McManus and husband Charles of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Gabriel Kane Ward of Murray, Kentucky; uncle, Max Boyd; aunt, Marjorie Riley; cousins, Jenise Howard and Sabrinia Leslie all of Murray, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Mike Ward and wife Hettie of Paducah, Kentucky;  sister-in-law, Shelly Ward of Murray, Kentucky; as well as nieces and a nephew. 

          A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. John Dale and Bro. Brett Miles will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
