Shirley Louise Brandon Joyce

Ms. Shirley Louise Brandon Joyce, age 85, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Ms. Joyce was born in Brewers, Kentucky on January 19, 1933 to the late John Frederick Mardis and Verbena (Groves) Mardis. Ms. Joyce retired from the Murray State University Food Service Department and worked at the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Murray. Ms. Joyce was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching police television shows, playing scratch- off lottery tickets, and was an avid supporter of the F.O.P. and the Humane Society.
In addition to her parents Ms. Joyce was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Scott; two brothers, Jewell Mardis and Paul Mardis; and by one sister, R.E. Pritchett.
Ms. Joyce is survived by one son, Danny Brandon of Murray, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Garnie Scott and wife Valerie and Edna Cashion and husband Donnie all of Hazel, Kentucky; as well as four great-grandchildren, Haileigh Scott, Danny Scott, Damian Cashion and Dominic Cashion all of Hazel, Kentucky.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Humane Society of Calloway County, PO Box 764, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
