Steven Ray Henley, age 53, died in Athens, AL on Saturday, April 14th, 2018. Mr. Henley died at a brother's home following an extended illness. Steven was a long-time employee of the Kroger Company, and served for several years as an officer in the Kentucky National Guard. Past activities also included the operation of a small business in Murray, Ky. that specialized in the setup, maintenance and repair of computers and computer networks.
Steven is survived by his wife Lepa; two sons Chris and Adam of Cordova, TN; father Melvin Henley and wife Rita of Murray; four brothers, Jesse Henley of Athens, AL, Stan Henley and wife Janet of Murray, Shane Henley and wife Karen of Murray, and Matthew Boardman and wife Stacy of Murray.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mohler; a brother, Stuart Henley; and a nephew, Lee Henley. Also preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Effie Henley and his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Ruthie Mohler.
No visitation or chapel services are planned.
A graveside service will be held for Mr. Henley at the Story Chapel Cemetery located on Edge Hill Trail, Hazel KY on Friday, April 20th at 2:00 p.m.; family and friends are invited to attend. A gathering in remembrance of Steven is planned to follow the Funeral Services at the home of Stan and Jan Henley, 807 Nancy Drive, Murray, KY. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to each giver local hospice center.
