Sue Clifford Chaney

Sue Clifford Chaney, 85, of Murray, KY passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Hickory Woods Senior Living Community in Murray.

She was born on June 8, 1932 in Paris, KY to the late Paul and Flora (True) Clifford. She graduated from Bourbon County High School and went on to attend Georgetown College where she earned a Bachelors Degree in English and Elementary Education. After graduating she began teaching in the Georgetown and Lexington school systems while earning her Masters in Education from the University of Kentucky. She also attended Murray State University where she taught at The University School and ultimately retired from the Calloway County School System. She was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday school class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dr. Charles H. Chaney. She is survived by one son, Bill Chaney and wife Kathy of Pulaski, TN, one sister, Frances Wright of Lexington, KY and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors between 5:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, April 20. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 am at the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. The Revs. Brad Burns and Jim Stahler will officiate. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery.
