Mrs. Theresa Rose Burke, age 90, of Murray, Kentucky passed away at her home on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
Mrs. Burke was born in Derby, Connecticut on December 28, 1927 to the late Frank Colonese and Annette (Gagne) Colonese. Mrs. Burke was a homemaker and was known for her Italian homemade pasta. She was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Murray Art Guild and participated in Playhouse in the Park productions.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her husband, Donald T. Burke and by one son, Matthew F. Burke.
Mrs. Burke is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Christian and husband Nick of Troy, New York and Erin Burke-Smith of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Jonathan D. Burke and wife Kelley of Hilton Head, South Carolina; two sisters, Francis Harkins of Mystic, Connecticut and Sue Garber if Meridian, Idaho; one brother, Frank Colonese of The Villages, Leesburg, Florida; six grandchildren, Catlin Bogard, Dillon Smith, Mary Clare Burke, Nicholas Christian, Matthew Christian and Alexandra Christian.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the St. Leo Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brandon Williams officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
