Mrs. Thilda Watson, age 101, of Kirksey, Kentucky died on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Watson was born in Kirksey, Kentucky on October 11, 1915 to the late Virgil McCallon and Hattie (Bazzell) McCallon. Mrs. Watson retired from Murray State University Food Services and was a member of the Kirksey United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Brooks Watson; one son, Donald Watson; four sisters, Vera Lacox, Dorothy Taylor, Gertrude Wilson and Anna Roberts; as well as two brothers, Dyrus and Orbon McCallon.
Mrs. Watson is survived by two sons, Garry Watson (Joy) of Mayfield, Kentucky and Larry Watson (Pam) of Puryear, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Joseph Watson, Eric Watson, Sam Watson, Bradley Watson, Ricky Watson and Matt Nanney; as well as eight great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Goshen United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Stahler officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no public visitation.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
