Thomas "Tommy" Carraway

Mr. Thomas Linn "Tommy" Carraway, age 76, of Murray, Kentucky died on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
Mr. Carraway was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on October 19, 1941 to the late Tellis "Chig" Cooper Carraway and Lena Sue (Valentine) Carraway. Mr. Carraway was the owner and operator of Williams Radiator and Glass, Inc. in Murray, Kentucky. He was an active member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ. He served as a deacon from 1977 – 2009 and had been a part of 32 mission trips. Mr. Carraway was a past president for the WATCH Center in Murray, a member of the Optimist Club, the Civitan Club, a Kentucky Colonel, and was an Army veteran. He was an avid Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed horseback riding with his friends.
In addition to his parents Mr. Carraway was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, John L. and Abbie Williams.
Mr. Carraway is survived by his wife, Peggy (Williams) Carraway of Murray, whom he married on June 24, 1961 in Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Karen Carraway of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Carolyn Farris of Benton, Kentucky; one brother, Solon Reed Carraway of Arizona; one brother-in-law, Dennis L. Jones of Murray, Kentucky; one grandchild, Elizabeth Schubert of Fairview, Tennessee; two nieces, Johna Jones of Columbia, Tennessee and Tenna Hack of Benton, Kentucky; as well as two nephews, Dennis Jones, Jr. of Murray, Kentucky and Jason Carraway of Arizona.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glendale Road Church of Christ with John Dale, Garry Evans and Steven Hunter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Glendale Road Church of Christ.
