Dr. Thomas E. Gray, age 79, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
Dr. Gray was born in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana on May 14, 1935 to the late Cecil Thomas Gray and Birtye (Stephens) Gray. Dr. Gray before retiring served 28 years as the Chairman of the Graphic Arts Department at Murray State University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents Dr. Gray was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Thomas Gray, Jr.
Dr. Gray is survived by his wife, Barbara Breedlove Gray of Murray, Kentucky, to whom he married on June 1, 1956 in Natchitoches, Louisiana; three daughters, Kayren Lea Harris and fiancé Barry Cowart of Holden, Louisiana, Dawn Alison Wilson and husband Tim of Murray, Kentucky and Melissa Ann Shown and husband Tommy of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Brian Douglas Gray and wife Cindy of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Patsy Ward and husband Buddy of Gretna, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Brian Thomas Gray and friend Courtnee Coomer of Murray, Kentucky and Phoebe Shown of Murray, Kentucky.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery with Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
