Mr. Thomas D. Lovett, age 88, of Murray, Kentucky died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Lovett was a former employee of the Tappan Manufacturing Company and a farmer. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lovett was born in Calloway County Kentucky on July 21, 1926 to the late Pearson Dewey and Opal Darnell Lovett. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Lela Jane Fitts Lovett; one sister, Wanda Hart; and by one brother, Ralph Durwood Lovett.
He is survived by two daughters, Regina Melton and husband Eddie of Sebree, Kentucky, Amelia K. Harris and husband Brent of East Carondelet, Illinois; two sisters, Mary White Lowrie and husband Jim of Hazel, Kentucky and Patricia Miller of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Harry Lovett and wife Sue of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren, Lindsey Hicklin and husband Nathan, Logan Harris and Gwendylyn Harris; as well as one great grandchild, Anna Claire Hicklin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McKinney and Rev. David Allbritten officiating. Burial will follow in the Outland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
