Mr. Thomas A. Rottinghaus, age 56, of Murray, Kentucky, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Rottinghaus was a graduate of Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell, Ky., a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a B.S. in Police Administration, and A.A. in Juvenile Corrections. He worked for the Florence Kentucky Police Department from 1979 till 1982, and worked for the Kentucky State Police from 1982 until his retirement in 1999. He was the owner of Rottinghaus Accident Reconstruction Services; he was a member of the First United Methodist Church; member of Oaks Country Club; member of the West Kentucky Archery League; Chairman of the Code of Enforcement Board of Murray; he was a volunteer for the Humane Society of Calloway County; and was a Certified Instructor for the Department of Criminal Justice Training.
He was born September 18, 1957 in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Ann Mersch Rottinghaus.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Smith Rottinghaus of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, John Rottinghaus and wife Annette of Villa Hills, Kentucky; four nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Murray Banquet Center in Murray, Kentucky from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
