Mr. Thomas Gerald "Jerry" Wheatley, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at his home.
Mr. Wheatley was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on June 13, 1941, to the late Thomas L. Wheatley and Kathleen (Nally) Wheatley. Mr. Wheatley retired from the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church, a member of the Twin Lakes Region Antique Car Club and was a United States Marine Vietnam veteran.
Mr. Wheatley is survived by his wife, Jean Wheatley of Murray, whom he married on June 8, 2002, in Murray; three daughters, Lacy Lewis of Savannah, Georgia, Aimee Wickham of Bardstown, Kentucky, and Molly Wheatley of Cumming, Georgia; one sister, Kathy George and husband Kenneth of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Dr. Sam Wheatley and wife Susan of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina; as well as four grandchildren, Will Lewis, Tallie Lewis, Tommy Wickham, and Madison Miller.
A memorial service with full military honors provided by the VFW Post# 6291 will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Father Brandon Williams officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
