Tommy Lyons

Mr. William Tommy Lyons, 66, of Murray, Ky., died Sunday, October 03, 2010 at 2:00 a.m. at his home.
He was retired after 35 years of service with General Tire, and was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ, and was also Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Lyons was a member of the Murray High School class of 1961, and was a 2010 inductee of the Murray High School baseball hall of fame.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Franklin Lyons of Murray, Ky., they married Jan. 30, 1982 in New Concord, Ky., daughter, Michelle Garland of Murray, Ky., three sons, Brad Lyons (Lodema) of Tupelo, Ms., Scott Lyons of Bowling Green, Ky., Mike Garland (Jennifer) of Knoxville, Tn., sister, Evelyn Vick of Stella, Ky., three grandchildren, Ryan and Beth Garland of Knoxville, Tn., and Andy Patterson of Murray, Ky. Special Friends, Sandra Barron (Bob) of Murray, Ky., Joni Moyer of Knoxville, Tn., Kitty Garland of Knoxville, Tn., Lora Huffman (Billy) of Knoxville, Tn., Kevin Patterson of Murray, Ky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Myrtle Boggess Lyons, sister, Rubie Elkins, two brothers, James Tabors and Robert Lyons, and grandson Alex Patterson.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Luke Puckett will officiate, and burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
