Tommye D Taylor, 87, of Murray, passed away June 28, 2014 at Spring Creek Rehab Center. He was born November 10, 1926 in Calloway County, KY to the late John Tom and Della Hill Taylor. He was the owner and operator of Taylor Bus Sales and was a member of The University Church of Christ and Murray Rotary Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force in WW II, attended Murray State College and was an avid Racer Basketball fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Taylor in 2010; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Miller and Gene Miller; as well as one sister-in-law, Jeannette Rogers.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Anna Faye Taylor; one daughter, Jennifer Taylor of Murray; one son, David Taylor and wife Jennifer of Murray; daughter-in-law, Peggy Taylor of Hazel; two brothers, Dan Taylor and wife Beverly of Farmington and Dwain Taylor and wife Mary of Murray; sisters-in-law, Becky Miller and Sandra Rogers and husband, Glenn; also ten grandchildren, Serenity Heegel of Austin, TX, Greg Taylor and wife Kristin of Murray, Charles Taylor and wife Angela of Murray, Alyssa Brown and husband Stephen of Asheville, NC, John Taylor and wife, Christine of Highland, IL, Maya Heegel of Austin, TX, Zak Taylor and wife Alysha of Murray, KY, Camee Rudolph and husband Grant of Murray, Zori Taylor and fiancé Jeremy Curd of Murray, Quinnen Taylor of Murray; and eleven great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ethne, Cate, Evelyn, Ben, Mae Rose, Kieran and Charlie Taylor, Annalee Rudolph and Emaline and Hannah Brown; as well as numerous family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 at the University Church of Christ. Hollis Miller and Charley Bazzell will officiate with congregational singing led by Danny Claiborne. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.at the University Church of Christ.
