Tremon "Sonny" Farris

Mr. Tremon Patrick "Sonny" Farris, Jr., 81, of Murray, Kentucky died Friday, October 2, 2015 at Hickory Woods Assisted Living in Murray.

He was born December 24, 1933 in Graves County, Kentucky and is the son of the late Tremon Patrick Farris, Sr. and Edna Farris. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theda Farris of Murray, Kentucky; daughters, Sandy Rushing (Paul) of Murray, Kentucky and Missy Champine (Steve) of Jackson, Tennessee; son, Mike Farris (Lisa) of Jackson, Tennessee. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Shawna Rushing Munger (Blake), Jessica Farris Salonus (Graham), Matthew Farris (Elizabeth), Bradley Champine (Sarah Joy), Bryan, Cooper, and Cameron Champine; as well as two great grandsons, Grey and Jack Salonus.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Farris was preceded in death by his brother Richard L. Farris and two sisters, Doris Lee Key and Lola Gayle Miller.

He was a retired painting contractor and entrepreneur, and a member of First Christian Church of Murray. He was also a past active member of the Murray Masonic Lodge #105, Rizpah Shrine Temple of Madisonville, Kentucky, and Twin Lakes Auto Club of Murray.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ruth Ragovin and Dr. David Roos officiating. Burial to follow at Temple Hill Cemetery in Almo, Kentucky.

His grandsons, grandson-in-laws, and dear friend Dan Walker will serve as his pallbearers.
