Mr. Troy Max Spencer, age 77, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Spencer was born in Bemis, Tennessee to the late Troy Edward Spencer and Vera Holmes Spencer on March 22, 1938. Mr. Spencer was a retired chemical engineer from Vanderbilt Chemicals in Murray, Kentucky. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murray, the Baptist Builders and the Kentucky Disaster Relief.
In addition to his parents Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Kelly Spencer and Todd Randall Mayo; as well as one sister, Joanne Pate.
Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife of 49 years, June Spencer of Murray; two daughters, Kristie Wood and husband Mark of Benton, Kentucky and Sherron Doom and husband Jack of Tiline, Kentucky; one son, Mike Spencer of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Nancy Fogleman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Dawn Garvin and husband Ryan of Benton, Kentucky, Kelly Long and husband Kyle of Benton, Kentucky, Clint Doom of Tiline, Kentukcky, Casey Doom of Tiline, Kentucky, Brandon Spencer and wife Ruth of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jeremy Spencer of Shawnee, Kansas and Aaron Mayo of Murray, Kentucky; as well as seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Boyd Smith and Rev. Keith Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens in Benton, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
