Mr. Van Wade "Tootie" Childress age 85, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Childress was born April 10, 1931 in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Ben Childress and Clydie Fennell Childress. He was a former small business owner in Calloway and Marshall county. Mr. Childress was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Hamilton Childress.
Survivors include one son, Tony Childress and wife Julie of Lexington, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Clinton Childress of Los Angeles, California, Cara Cranfill and husband Trey of Lexington, Kentucky; three great grandchildren, Callie Cranfill, Cambell Cranfill, and Lily Cecil all of Lexington, Kentucky.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Palestine United Methodist Church. Glenn Jones will officiate, and burial will follow. No public visitation will be held.
