Vanda J. Gibson

Ms. Vanda J. Gibson, age 90, of Murray, Kentucky died on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Ms. Gibson was born in Dixon, Kentucky on November 4, 1927 to the late Quinton Gibson and Lottie (Yarbrough) Gibson. Ms. Gibson retired from Murray State University as an elementary education teacher and had taught at several surrounding schools. Ms. Gibson was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Murray Woman's Club.
In addition to her parents Ms. Gibson was preceded in death by one brother, Frank M. Gibson.
Ms. Gibson is survived by one niece, Natalie Turner of Murray, Kentucky; and one nephew, Robert Gibson of Murray, Kentucky; three great nephews, Chris Gibson, Sal Moran and Victor Moran; as well as one great-great nephew, Tristan Moran.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, Kentucky with Bro. Martin Severns officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
