Vera Burlene Steffey

Ms. Vera "Burlene" Steffey, 87, of Murray, Kentucky died Friday, September 20, 2013 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
Ms. Steffey was born in Calloway County Kentucky on February 14, 1926 to the late Ulus Melton and Lillie (Arnold) Melton. Ms. Steffey retired with West View Nursing Home in Murray, now Spring Creek Health Care and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Ms. Steffey was preceded in death by two sons, James E. Steffey and David A. Steffey; one grandson, D.J. Steffey; three sisters; and four brothers.
Ms. Steffey is survived by one son, Donald Steffey and wife Janice of Murray; two grandchildren, William "Billy" Steffey and Michael Steffey; as well as three great grandchildren, Abby Steffey, Nathan Steffey and Sarah Steffey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September, 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at the Barnett Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, September, 23, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
