Vernie L. Brown

Mrs. Vernie L. Balentine Brown, 82, of Murray, KY., died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital. Mrs. Brown was born in Trigg Co., KY on April 2, 1927 to the late Rev. Felix Balentine and Mancy Baker Balentine. She was the oldest member of the New Jenny Ridge Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death along with her parents, her husband, Robert Lee Brown, one sister, Georgia “Dolly” Litchfield, two brothers, Roy Lee Balentine and Billy J. Balentine, as well as one grandson, Roy L. Travis.
She is survived by three daughters, Billie R. Reed and Shirley J. Jones and husband Delmer all of Murray, and Mildred L. Loe and husband Jim II of Paducah, KY, one son, Robert C. Brown and wife Donna of Ledbetter, KY, one sister, Anna L. Pinnegar of Paducah, 11 grandchildren, Kenneth Travis of Paducah, KY, Chris Reed of Kutawa, KY, James R. Brown of Mexico, KY, Crystal Warren of Reidland, KY, Dana Brown of Ledbetter, KY, Kevin Reed of Benton, KY, Bryan Reed of Mayfield, KY, Shawn Hudspeth of Golo, KY, Shelly Spiker of Murray, Jimmy Loe III of Paducah and Todd Tabers of Paducah, as well as 20 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., at the New Jenny Ridge Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Elijah Balentine officiating. Burial to follow in the New Jenny Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, there will also be visitation at the New Jenny Ridge Pentecostal Church from 11:00 a.m. until funeral hour on Wednesday.
