A graveside service will be held November 25th, at 2:00 pm in the Murray City Cemetery in Murray, KY for Violet Rogers Kelley, born on April 12, 1924, daughter of Novice and Ethel Rogers.  Violet died peacefully in her home in Versailles, Ky on Saturday November 18th

Prior to the death of her husband WD Kelley in 2008 Mrs. Kelley lived in Hopkinsville Ky where she was a teacher and administrator in the Christian County School system for many years.  Violet began her teaching career in Lone Oak Ky. 

She is survived by her son Dan Kelley of Alexander Ky, her daughter Gale Kelley Powers of Versailles Ky and her brother G.O. Rogers of Hopkinsville Ky (wife Shirley).  Violet’s sister Bobbie Evans and husband Pat Evans preceded her death.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Dianne Leigh of Frankfort Ky (husband Allen) David Powers of Versailles Ky (wife Sabrina), Russ Kelley (wife Elizabeth) of Washington DC, Emilie Vreeland (husband Adam) of Tampa Florida and one granddaughter Kelley Parker who preceded her in death. 

She is also survived by nine Great-Grandchildren, four Great-Great-Grandchildren, one who preceded her in death. 

The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Murray, Kentucky are in charge of arrangements.
