Virginia Chandler

Mrs. Virginia Dare Scott Chandler, 92 of Murray, Kentucky died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Spring Creek Health Care.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church; formerly employed for the Garment Factory – Calloway County Manufacturing Company.
She was born in Trigg County, Kentucky in the Land Between the Lakes on February 10, 1920 to the late Alvin and Tempie Dixon Scott; in addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Calvin Chandler in September of 1991; one daughter, Patricia McMeen; two sisters, Dixie Peeler and Ava Ahart; five brothers, Vernon, Willie, Earl, Wilson, and Tom Scott; one step son, Darrell Chandler.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy S. Noel and husband Dalton of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Douglas W. Shaw and wife Brenda of Jackson, Tennessee, Craig S. Chandler and wife Teresa of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Nell Cothran of Brook, Indiana; three step daughters, Barbara J. Lindsey and husband Tom of Bardwell, Kentucky, Shirley Byassee of Bardwell, Kentucky, Phyllis A. Colley and husband James of Paducah, Kentucky, four step sons, Jimmy Chandler of Birmingham Alabama, Randall Chandler of Paducah, Kentucky, Larry Chandler and wife Vivian of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Donnie R. Chandler and wife Larie of Bardwell, Kentucky; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, seventeen step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11:00 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale will officiate and burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral Saturday from 9:00 am till funeral hour at the funeral home.
