Mr. W A "Dub" Cunningham, 90, of Murray, Kentucky died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
He was a member of the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church; He was a Navy veteran of World War II; in 1962 he founded Cunningham Auto repair and worked as an automotive mechanic, He was still active in the business until his death, being at the shop almost every day.
He was born October 5, 1922 in Calloway County Kentucky to the late Albert and Ruth Collie Cunningham; In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Cunningham; two sisters, Arlene Burkeen and Pauline Buchanan; two brothers, Roy Cunningham and Garnet Cunningham.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Nix and husband James, Vickie Herndon and husband Barry; three sons, Larry Cunningham and wife Susan, Randy Cunningham and wife Rebecca, Ricky Cunningham and wife Debbi; one brother Guy Cunningham and wife June all of Murray, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren, Chris Allen and wife Erin, Wesley Herndon, Scott Nix and wife Carrie, Jeff Nix and wife Virginia, Trent Nix, Timmy Cunningham, Tommy Cunningham and wife Anita, Ryan Cunningham and wife Sarah, Kevin Cunningham and wife Emily, Tiffany Milam and husband Chad, Whitni Raetzel, and Jay Phillips and wife Beth; sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 16, in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Eugene Burkeen and Glenn Hill will officiate with entombment to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 at the funeral home.
