Walter Lee Reed

Mr. Walter Lee Reed, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Mr. Reed was born in Hensley, Kentucky on December 24, 1928 to the late Frank and Mary (Webb) Reed. Mr. Reed retired after 44 years of service with the Kroger Manufacturing Division. Mr. Reed was of Baptist faith, a Marine veteran and a member of the Cincinnati Lodge, #204 F. & A.M.

In addition to his parents Mr. Reed was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Reed; one grandchild, Logan Watson; four sisters; and two brothers.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Beverly Reed of Murray, Kentucky to whom he married on February 17, 1984; four daughters, Christine Janow and husband Steve of Murray, Kentucky, Connie Spann of Nashville, Tennessee, Cindy Travis and husband Tony of Murray, Kentucky and Sherri Weitzel and husband Dan of Harrison, Ohio; as well as six grandchildren, Tanner Travis, Tisha Travis, Ryan Watson, Morgan Janow, Greyson Janow and Timothy Millirones.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Murray Memorial Gardens with Carey Alexander officiating. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
