Ms. Wanda Sue Bazzell Brown, 70, of Murray, KY died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her home following an extended illness.
Ms. Brown was born August 12, 1942 in Calloway Co., Ky., She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church of Murray, and was the former owner and operator of the Beauty Box, and the Main Event. She was also an instructor for Ezell Beauty School. She was an avid golfer and was a member and worked at the Oaks Country Club pro shop, she also was a golfing instructor.
Ms. Brown was survived by one daughter, Monica Lucas of Murray, Ky., four sisters, Betty Parrish, Jo Ann Sliger, Evelyn Jean Self, and Diane Tindell and husband Robbie all of Murray, Ky., also two brothers, Ralph and Dennis Sliger both of Murray, Ky., six grandchildren, Drew Henry and wife Jen of Louisville, Ky., Nicholas Warner, Bradley Warner, Chaz Lucas, Olivia Bogard, and Hal Bogard all of Murray, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her father, Waylon Bazzell, step father, H.L. Sliger, mother, Vivian Bean Sliger, sister, Dorothy Bazzell, and great grandchild, Rollin Warner.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Kerry Lambert will officiate, and entombment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
