Mrs. Wanda Williford Butler, 84, of Murray, KY, died Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Green Acres Healthcare in Mayfield, KY.
She had worked at Meritt Clothing Co. in Mayfield, Ky., and retired from K-Mart in Murray, Ky., was a member of the West Fork Baptist Church. Born Nov. 30, 1925 in Detroit, Mi.
Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Bucy (Dale) of Murray, Ky., Barbara Avent (Mark) of Whiteville, Tn., brother, Merritt Lawson of Murray, Ky., sister in law, Mary Ellis Lawson of Murray, Ky., bro in law, Tommy Dan Story of Murray, Ky., eight grandchildren, Sara Murphy (Chris) of Kirksey, Ky., Ashley Southard (Brian) of St. Charles, Mo., Jon Bucy of Murray, Ky., David Avent of Jackson, Tn., Dani Gomez (Joe) of Memphis, Tn., Joey Avent of Memphis, Tn., B.J. Avent of Whiteville, Tn., and Teah Croft of Bowling Green, Ky. also four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lynn and Birdie Adams Lawson, 1st husband, Joseph C. Williford, 2nd husband, James E. Butler, son, Tony Williford, sister, Linda Emerson Story, brother, William Ted Lawson.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Wayne Carter, and Rev. Matthew Williams will officiate, and burial will be in the West Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
