Wilbur "Gene" Nicholas

Mr. Wilbur Eugene "Gene" Nicholas, age 95, of Byron, Michigan died on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Ashley Court of Brighton Assisted Living in Brighton, Michigan.
Mr. Nicholas was born in Fulgham, Kentucky on June 12 ,1921 to the late George W. Nicholas and Hessie Evans Nicholas. Mr. Nicholas retired from the Detroit House of Correction in Detroit, Michigan as a correctional officer. He was an Army veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents Mr. Nicholas was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Nicholas; three sisters, Lennye Nicholas, Jessie Gunther and Modean Grogan; as well as three brothers, Woodrow Nicholas, Alben "Dub" Nicholas and Hazle "Nick" Nicholas.
Mr. Nicholas is survived by one son, Larry Nicholas and wife Cynthia of Byron, Michigan; and one granddaughter, Elise Nicholas of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salem Cemetery in Fulgham, Kentucky. There will be no public visitation.
