William Thomas Atherton

Mr. William Thomas Atherton, age 66, of Murray, Kentucky, formerly of Owensboro, Kentucky, died on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Henry County Medical Center Nursing Home in Paris, Tennessee.
Mr. Atherton was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on September 19, 1950 to the late James H. Atherton and Mary Carter Atherton. Mr. Atherton was a Marine Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the V.F.W Post 6291
In addition to his parents, Mr. Atherton was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Morgan Duncan, and by one brother, Darrell Atherton.
Mr. Atherton is survived by three sisters, Carol Harmon of Almo, Kentucky, Cindy Atherton of Murray, Kentucky, and Kathy Walls and husband Ricky of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, David Atherton and wife Sharon of Owensboro, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Nancy Atherton of Owensboro, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hope Cemetery in Buel, Kentucky. Bro. Ricky Walls and Bro. David Atherton will officiate.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the V.F.W Post 6291 Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 827, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
