Mr. William B. Duncan, age 91, of Murray, KY, died Friday March 25, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benton, KY. He was born, February 7, 1920, in Calloway County to the late John Freeman and Beckham Worsham Duncan. He was a veteran of WWII where he was a Sergeant in the Army, a member of the local VFW, a farmer and had retired from Tappan. He was the oldest member of Friendship Church of Christ and prior to death he was the oldest Duncan living in Calloway County.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Pritchett Duncan; sister, Birdeen Clements; and brother, L.B. Duncan.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his daughter, Janie (Kenneth) Suiter of Murray, KY; sons, Charles, D. (Linda) Duncan of Farmington, KY, and Bobby L. (Marsha) Duncan of Benton, KY; brother, Alfred Duncan of Marion, IL; grandchildren, C. Mark (Regina) Duncan of Farmington, KY; Erica Duncan and Grant Duncan both of Benton, KY; Rebecca (Chad) McLaren of Paducah, KY; Sarah (Jamie) Steele of Calvert City, KY; and Joseph Suiter of Murray, KY; and great-grandchildren, Mallory Duncan, Will Duncan, Maggie Steele, Taz Steele and Danielle Steele.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale and Alan Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
