William "Bill" Elkins

Mr. William A. "Bill" Elkins, 88, of Kirksey, Kentucky died on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Elkins was born on April 18, 1925 to the late Bob Robert Elkins and Myrtle Bryan Elkins. He was a retired farmer and a Navy veteran of WWII. He was also a member of the Kirksey Church of Christ.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Gowdy and husband Ken, of Nashville, TN., two sons, Phillip Elkins and wife Cari of Kirksey, Ky., and Robert Elkins of Kirksey, Ky., one brother, Bryan Elkins, of Murray, as well as eight grandchildren, Danielle Hopkins, Kelly Elkins, McKinzie Elkins, Cody Elkins, Sara Harper, Rachel Elkins, Evan Gowdy, and Randy Wellence and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty June Gupton, his second wife, Laverne Elkins, one daughter, Rozlyn Wellence, one sister, Betty Sue Elkins, one brother Rainy Elkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Max E. Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill funeral home.
