William "Billy" Mitchell

Mr. William Neal "Billy" Mitchell, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on November 17, 2018, at his home.

Coach Mitchell was born on June 2, 1935, in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Robert Neal Mitchell and Aguaill Bain Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a retired teacher and football coach having worked for Daviess County High School, Calloway County High School, and Manual High School. He was also an assistant football coach for Kentucky Wesleyan College, Murray State University, Virginia Tech, Wake Forrest, and the University of Kentucky. He was an Air Force Veteran where he entered as a 2nd Lieutenant and left as Captain and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murray.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Mitchell; and one sister, Bobbi Jo Franklin.

Survivors include three daughters, Tami Bunn and husband Ronnie of Utica, Kentucky, Randi Incardona and husband Tony of Bradenton, Florida, and Elisabeth Krivickas of Murray, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Lynsie Mantooth, Brittni Klotzback, Anthony Incardona, Kelsey Incardona, Quinn Incardona, William Krivickas, and Hannah Krivickas; as well as three great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Coach Mitchell will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Murray, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Dr. Renee Meyer and Josh McKeel will officiate. A private family burial will be at a later date.
