Mr. William R. “Bill” Staudacher, age 87, of Murray Kentucky, died 11:00 am Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at his home.
He was a member of the Murray First United Methodist Church serving on several committees and boards; also a member of the Rotary Club, American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, and Chamber of Commerce. He was a retired executive of IBM after 31 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University where he earned his Master’s Degree in Math and Physics.
He was born in Marion Illinois August 24, 1923 to the late Arch Lee and Ethel M. Staudacher; in addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Mayme Nell Story Staudacher, and sister, Roberta McRay.
He is survived by his wife Julie Staudacher of Murray Kentucky; son, David Staudacher and wife Allison of Canton Connecticut; two step daughters Nancy Greene and husband William of Louisville Kentucky, Jennie Rottinghaus and husband Tom of Murray Kentucky; step son, David Smith and wife Carol of Murray Kentucky; brother, Jim Staudacher and wife Yvonne of Portage Michigan; three grandchildren, Adam Staudacher, Christian Staudacher, and Emma Staudacher; step grandson, David Smith; mother-in-law, Sadie Nell West Fulton of Murray Kentucky.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday March 27, 2011 in the Sanctuary of the Murray First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Dye officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday prior to the funeral from 1:00 pm till funeral hour. Entombment will be Monday, March 28, 2011 in the Chapel of the Murray Memorial Gardens.
